Refreshing and unifying the MTT-S Society website
MTT-S (Microwave Theory & Techniques Society) is an international association dedicated to the development of microwave technology. The organization has thousands of members worldwide, supporting their professional advancement and promoting innovative solutions. MTT-S approached us with a need for a website redesign. The existing site did not meet modern aesthetic and functional standards, making it difficult to attract new members and manage content. The association needed a new, fresh design and an improved site structure.
Project goals and challenges
The goal of working with MTT-S was to create a modern and visually appealing website design. The new look was intended to attract attention and reflect the professionalism of the organization.
During the project, we encountered several notable challenges. Developing a modern design and implementing it on the complex structure of the MTT-S website was one of them. The structure of the site required careful adaptation of new elements.
In addition, we aimed to standardize the templates in WordPress to improve the consistency and appearance of the platform. Each subpage had to maintain a proper appearance, which involved converting a variety of views and templates. Unifying these elements was crucial to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience on the site. Our goal was to create an aesthetically pleasing site that is functional and easy to use for all users.
Strategy and approach
Our strategy was based on a thorough understanding of the client's needs and a gradual implementation of changes to ensure the highest possible quality of the final product. First, we created a redesign proposal in the form of mockups in Figma. This allowed us to present the client with an initial vision of the new look and get feedback.
After receiving feedback from the client, we made the necessary adjustments. Then, we proceeded to implement the project, dividing it into two stages: MVP and post-MVP.
The MVP scope covered the key sections of the site that the client cared most about, allowing us to quickly implement the most important changes and features.
The post-MVP stage focused on the less frequently visited elements of the platform, which also needed to be updated to maintain the consistency and functionality of the entire site.
Results of the cooperation
The outcome of our project is a new, refreshed MTT-S website, which features a modern and appealing design. The site was designed to attract the attention of new community members and to better serve current users. The unification of templates in WordPress has significantly improved the editing experience for site administrators. We are currently supporting the client in marketing activities, helping to promote the platform, and encouraging new people to join the community.
