New website design and optimization for Alokai

Alokai, formerly known as Vue Storefront, is a company specializing in developing modern E-commerce solutions that focus on a headless approach. The client approached Salestube with the need to develop a compelling design for a new platform, focusing on improved SEO, better site readability, and speed optimization. Our cooperation began even before the company's rebranding when it operated under the name Vue Storefront. Together we worked on a multi-phase implementation to provide a comprehensive and modern solution to meet Alokai's needs.

Goals of the cooperation

The collaboration with Alokai aimed not only to modernize their platform but also to significantly improve its efficiency and attractiveness. In the face of increasing competition in the market, it became crucial to increase the visibility of the site and improve the user experience. To meet these challenges, we set ourselves several main goals:

  • Improving SEO: Increasing the site's visibility in search results was a priority. SEO optimization was aimed at increasing the number of visitors and improving search engine rankings, which directly affects brand recognition and potential profits.

  • Attractiveness of the platform: Redesigning the site in a way that would attract users' attention and encourage them to stay on the site longer. A modern, aesthetically pleasing design was intended not only to improve visuals but also to increase user engagement.

  • Improved site readability: A key aspect was to ensure that users could easily find the information they needed. Improving the navigation structure and content layout was aimed at making the site more intuitive for the user.

  • Speed optimization: Page loading speed is crucial to retaining users and ensuring a smooth browsing experience. Aiming to optimize the site's speed as much as possible, both on desktop computers and mobile devices, was one of the main goals.

Project challenges

During the implementation of the project for Alokai, we encountered several problems that had a key impact on the course and results of the cooperation. One of the biggest challenges was the PartyTown solution, which at times lost data from Google Analytics. Problems with correct tracking of analytics data affected the accuracy of reporting and analysis of website traffic.

As a result, the client ultimately decided to abandon PartyTown, which unfortunately resulted in a drop in performance on mobile devices. The cancellation of PartyTown required us to quickly adapt to the new circumstances and find alternative solutions to minimize the negative impact on the speed and performance of the mobile site.

This required our team to be flexible and respond effectively to emerging issues to ultimately deliver a solution that met Alokai's high standards.

Strategy and approach

To meet the challenges of the project and achieve our goals, our team decided to use modern technologies and approaches. A key element of our strategy was to use Contentstack's CMS platform, which allows for flexible content management through a headless approach. Migrating content to this platform allowed us to manage the site's content more easily and efficiently, which significantly improved its performance and responsiveness.

The headless approach allowed us to separate the content management layer from the presentation layer, which gave us more freedom to optimize the front end of the site. This allowed us to focus on improving the site's loading speed and overall performance.

We also ran a series of speed tests to make sure the site was running optimally. In the Google Speed Insights tool, we achieved a score of 75/100 for the desktop, which was a significant step forward compared to the previous platform based on a traditional CMS.

Results of cooperation

The results of our cooperation with Alokai were very satisfying and met all of the established goals. The client's website has been optimized so that it runs quickly and efficiently on both desktop and mobile devices. This has significantly improved the user experience, who can now enjoy a smooth and seamless use of the platform. In addition, we implemented a new UX and UI design, which not only increased the visual appeal of the site but also improved its functionality. The modern and intuitive interface makes it easier for users to navigate and find the information they need, resulting in higher levels of engagement and satisfaction. Thanks to our efforts, Alokai has gained a modern, efficient, and attractive platform that meets all the requirements of today's market and provides users with an excellent experience.
